NETWORK ADMINISTRATORNetwork Administrator will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. He will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where ever required.Network Administrator’s ultimate responsibility is to ensure that office networks stay operating at peak efficiency and as productively as possible.Understanding of varied network architecture’s, engineering principles, and network security is a must to fill a Network Administrator Position.Technical Knowledge Requirements• Microsoft Windows experience – mostly XP and Windows 7, windows server edition 2000, 2003.
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP – and how it integrates with Windows architecture.
• Microsoft Exchange experience, preferably 2007 and 2010.
• Configuration of anti-virus tools e.g. Symantec, McAfee.
• Cabling Experience (CAT5e) along with Rack Infrastructure Experience.
• Configuring, hardware, software, network and printer issues.
• Configuring, and supporting Windows XP Pro, Windows 7, MS Office, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and other client server applications.
• Barracuda Experience (Web Filter, Spam Filter).
• Firewall Experience using Sonic WALL devices including VPN Setup.
** ANY ONE OF THE CURRENT MICROSOFT CERTIFICATIONS LIKE MCSA / MCITP IS A HUGE PLUS!! **General Requirements• University degree in computer science.
• 5 Years of Demonstrable Experience in related field.
• Flexible schedule (availability to work on weekends and evenings (as required) for projects & system migrations)
• Demonstrable Technical Expertise with Microsoft-based technology infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Job Requirements
1. Setup and Maintain Network.2. Monitor and Maintain Users over the Network
The network admin will also be required to monitor and maintain users over the network, managing things like an individual user’s server space, access rights, login availability and other security settings. This also means monitoring user’s Internet usage. Provide usage statistics to the management.3. Setup and Maintain Workstations and Servers
Network admins will need to monitor each workstation in an office, ensuring that they are in working condition. He will also be in charge of installing necessary software on each workstation as needed by users. In addition, network admins should be able to fix most hardware or software problems quickly and efficiently. This would include keeping a handy count of spare hardware and software and always backing up data regularly.4. Deploy or Install Patches and Updates.5. Backup Data Regularly.
A network administrator is expected to guarantee the data of a network by backing up any and all important data regularly, usually daily or weekly. He will also be expected to be able to restore from these backups. This will likely be part of an extended disaster-recovery plan.6. Training
Network admins may be expected to train other office employees in the use of advanced programs.7. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.8. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.9. Manage overall network security, user permission and confidential data in the office.10. Manage Software licenses and avoid use of any illegal software in the office that many result in legal issues to company.Prefered only Indians.
